Brands Hatch played host to the Masters series this weekend, with everything from F1 cars, 60s Sportscars and even a handful of Can Am beasts making the ground shake. Aaaaand thats enough words, gallery below:

Kinja'd!!!

Batmobile!

Kinja'd!!!

Understeer, what understeer?

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

Who doesnt love a Cortina sideways!

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

Plenty of Mustangs in the Touring Car grid

Kinja'd!!!

Some hotter than others...

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

This Lister Jaguar is a one of a kind, powered by a 3.8l V6

Kinja'd!!!

There was also this Scarab Offenhauser running, although a sticking throttle somewhat curtailed the running.

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

Vintage Ferrari Grand Prix cars always do look spectacular

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

This little Lotus 16 was the class of the field, driving away from everyone in both races

Kinja'd!!!

Maserati 250F ain’t bad looking either.

Kinja'd!!!

The Mclaren M1B was part of the Masters sports cars, a 60 minute 2 driver race.

Kinja'd!!!

As was this Dulon Dino LD10B (Yes, I did have to look that up)

Kinja'd!!!

Another Mclaren, this one an M8C being chased by one of the half dozen Chevron B8s

Kinja'd!!!

And the obligatory T70 MKiii

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

Cooper Monaco, with a flipping huge Shelby Cobra engine shoved under the back to make the King Cobra

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

The eventual winner, the Lola T210 had a mad dash to the flag, after their pitstop left them 30s down on the leader. 25 minutes later, on the last lap, the number 15 overhauled the leader to win.

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

The headline event was the F1 cars, with cars from the early 70s to mid 80s represented.

Kinja'd!!!

This weekend was also a James Hunt tribute weekend, so it was nice to see his Hesketh back running again.

Kinja'd!!!

This many DFV engines at full song = heaven.

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

One of my favourite shots from the weekend, of the second placed Tyrrell 010 plunging through Paddock hill.

Kinja'd!!!

And then my personal highlight, the Can Am cars.

Kinja'd!!!

The M8F has to be one of my favourite cars, from what is in my opinion the greatest era of sports cars. The March 717 chased valiantly, until a spin separated the front body work, and that was that.

Kinja'd!!!

It wasnt all Mclarens though, with both a Toj and March chasing round the two big bangers leading.

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

So yeah, that was a pretty good Sunday.

Great shots as always!

That blue Mustang with the white stripes, actually has been in the Netherlands since 1967, and has only been sold to it’s second and current owner a month ago!

Ah cool! Is it still based in the Netherlands? There was a fairly large contingent of Belgium and Dutch guys over for the meeting

Can’t find anything other about the car on the internet, I just noticed this from the license plate info. But it’s not marked as exported or anything, so I guess it still is based over here. Maybe my uncle knows something about it, since he is into the Dutch Mustang/Cobra/Daytona/GT40 scene, being a Superformance Cobra and Daytona owner. I’ll ask him if I remember about it next time I see him.

I went to the Masters last year with BiTurbo. How’d the #69 Comet Cyclone do this year? It had #8 pole in the big all-saloons Saturday race last year and clawed all the way up to second.

Off the top of my head I think he finished third, some way behind the Mustang and Cortina that were hassling each other for the entire second half of the race. Such a cool car, thats what I like about the masters is the oddities that come out

It’s basically the same car as all the Falcon Sprints, with a slightly different rear quarter stamping left and right, two or three different pieces in the pan making it 2" longer wheelbase, and different front fender front stampings. The rest of it is pretty much all in the dressup pieces. Ah, Ford and their modular unibody shenanigans. I went to see it in the pit, and it has the front suspension lowered via cut springs and spacers under the shocks - no modified mount points as might otherwise make sense.
